Sinai Health is looking for an experienced and detail oriented clerical professional to join the team as a Program Support Assistant, Otolaryngology for our ENT Clinic. Reporting to the Manager, Ambulatory Services, the Program Support Assistant will be responsible for assisting program specific activities to ensure the delivery of quality of care services within the ENT clinic. The role will include administrative and academic support with interaction with patients as needed.
In this role you will
Assist with scheduling patient activity, including appointments, tests and procedures and other administrative tasks as assigned
Be responsible for assisting correspondence, documents, and scheduling the clinical residents/ learners as assigned
Support the telephone, facsimile, surface mails and email messages
Function in the front-line, providing timely, friendly and informative service that is patient and family centered
Assist with maintaining patient flow including walking patients to the respective exam room
Assist with supplies and equipment are adequately prepared for the clinical team
Collaborate regularly with team members to ensure supports are provided to meet daily priorities and activities in the clinic
Perform other duties consistent with the job classification as required
Mandatory
Successful completion of a college diploma or degree in a relevant discipline from a recognized academic institution
3 years of experience in related role
Applicants with proven equivalent relevant and related training and experience may be considered
Preferred
Experience in an ambulatory heathcare setting
Proficiency with medical terminology and medical dicta-typing
Proficiency with Accuro
Skills and Knowledge
Demonstrated knowledge of patient and family centered care
Proven strong work ethic; positive, client focused attitude; superior professionalism; dependability and reliability
Demonstrated commitment to providing outstanding customer service in a fast-paced environment
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook
Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills; excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills with the ability to effectively convey factual information and detailed explanations
Superior time management, organizational and self-planning skills displaying flexibility by adjusting work schedules according to changing prioritized meeting demanding deadlines and producing high quality work
Strong ability to function independently and interdependently within a large diverse team
Proven problem solving skills and ability to prioritize, manage and process high volume varied workload with a high level of accuracy
Demonstrated ability to make decisions, exercise good judgement, discretion and initiative when dealing with confidential information and/or in responding to inquiries
Demonstrated satisfactory work performance and attendance history
