Job DescriptionJob Description Production Manager Location: Huntsville, Ontario Reporting to: Plant Manager About Infra Pipes Infra Pipes has over 60 years of experience specializing in the design, manufacturing, and custom fabrication of engineered polyethylene systems for water, wastewater, and stormwater management applications. We provide full-service engineering support to deliver customized solutions that meet our clients' specific project requirements. Position Summary The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing the entire production process within the manufacturing facility. This leadership role ensures efficient operations, compliance with safety and quality standards, and adherence to production schedules. The Production Manager leads a team of supervisors and operators, collaborates with cross-functional departments, and drives continuous improvement initiatives to optimize productivity, minimize waste, and maintain a safe work environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Production Management Plan, organize, and supervise daily extrusion line operations for optimal productivity. Monitor and adjust production schedules to meet customer and business demands. Ensure production activities align with company standards, policies, and safety protocols. Coordinate with other departments to meet goals and resolve production challenges. Analyze production and operating reports to troubleshoot and resolve issues, reducing downtime. Team Leadership Lead, motivate, and develop production staff, including supervisors and operators. Provide regular training on production processes and safety standards. Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, safety, and continuous improvement. Model leadership behaviors as a dependable and approachable role models. Resource Management Manage raw materials, labor, and equipment resources to ensure production flow. Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with procurement for timely supply. Safety Compliance Conduct safety audits and implement corrective actions as needed. Promote a strong culture of safety and accountability across shifts. Reporting and Documentation Prepare reports on production performance (output, efficiency, quality, downtime). Maintain accurate records of operations, maintenance, and personnel activity. Contribute to long-term strategic production planning with senior leadership. Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies Strong written and verbal communication skills Proven leadership in training, coaching, performance management, and employee relations Deep understanding of manufacturing safety, quality, and operational best practices Experience with continuous improvement (Lean, OSHA 10, Six Sigma preferred) Strong interpersonal and motivational skills; fosters ownership and teamwork Comfortable managing performance and driving accountability at all levels Coordinate with Maintenance Supervisor and QA Manager Collaborate with Quality Assurance to ensure all products meet specifications. General Safety and Housekeeping Standards Work Environment Exposure to standard manufacturing conditions, including heat, noise, and moving equipment Loud noise levels; hearing protection provided (required for certain tasks) Industrial lighting, temperature variability due to machinery and exterior conditions PPE required: steel/composite-toe shoes, safety glasses; other PPE for specific tasks Note: This job description serves as a general guideline and may be revised at the company's discretion.
