Job Title: Production Manager
Job Description
The Production Manager oversees day-to-day manufacturing operations to ensure output, quality, and delivery targets are consistently met. This role leads and develops production supervisors and hourly teams across multiple shifts, drives a strong safety-first culture, and partners closely with cross-functional teams to optimize equipment utilization, reduce waste, and improve overall efficiency. The Production Manager plays a key role in supporting production planning, scheduling, and inventory management while maintaining high standards of product quality and advancing sustainability initiatives.
Responsibilities
Lead and manage daily production operations to achieve output, quality, and on-time delivery targets.
Supervise, coach, and develop production supervisors and hourly employees across all shifts.
Ensure full compliance with health and safety policies and regulations, and promote a strong safety-first culture.
Oversee equipment utilization and partner with maintenance teams to minimize downtime and improve reliability.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, waste reduction, and process optimization.
Monitor key performance indicators such as productivity, downtime, scrap, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE), and implement corrective actions when needed.
Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, maintenance, quality, and supply chain teams to support operational goals.
Support production planning, scheduling, and inventory management to effectively meet customer demand.
Maintain high product quality standards and ensure adherence to company policies and applicable regulatory requirements.
Lead initiatives that support organizational sustainability goals, including efficient use of recycled materials in production processes.
Essential Skills
5+ years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in rubber, plastics, or building materials.
Proven ability to lead and motivate teams in a fast-paced production setting.
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, production equipment, and coordination with maintenance functions.
Experience with continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean and Six Sigma.
Knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices in a manufacturing environment.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
Demonstrated leadership capabilities, including coaching, mentoring, and performance management.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing production demands.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in industrial production environments such as rubber, plastics, or building materials manufacturing.
Experience working with sustainability-focused operations and recycled materials.
Familiarity with monitoring and improving KPIs including productivity, downtime, scrap, and OEE.
Comfort with hands-on leadership in a plant setting, including regular presence on the production floor.
