In business for over 50 years, our client has a reputation as a great place to work and build a career. We are seeking a high-energy, proactive Production Coordinator to serve as the ultimate bridge builder in their facility. Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, you will be a center point of our client's workflow, optimizing the production schedule and flawlessly syncing everything that happens before the line runs (raw materials, inputs) with everything that happens after (shipping). This isn't just about spreadsheets—it’s about people and impact. You will augment and elevate the Production Scheduler role, acting as the critical liaison across multiple departments to design the most efficient production plan possible. As the ultimate point of contact between Production, Inventory, Procurement, Shipping, and Sales , you’ll ensure that materials, insights, and workflows move seamlessly through the plant. Plus, you'll have the versatility to step in and provide crucial backup coverage for the Production Scheduler when needed. Key Responsibilities Communication & Liaison Keep the Gears Turning: Maintain crystal-clear, proactive communication between shipping, production, procurement, and inventory teams to obliterate delays before they happen. Sales Team Ally: Act as the go-to, trusted main point of contact for the Sales team regarding real-time order updates. Real-Time Agility: Communicate schedule changes, risks, and constraints clearly and instantly to all stakeholders as they unfold. Planning & Scheduling (The Strategist) End-to-End Execution: Take the production schedule and transform it into a master plan for flawless, timely execution—from raw material arrival straight through to the final shipping plan. Next-Day Success: Review next-day production plans and partner with the Inventory Controller to engineer the most efficient material issuance strategy. Bulk Order Support: Champion the scheduler to hit critical release order timeframes during heavy bulk order entries. Material Watchdog: Rapidly identify shortages of non-inventory or critical, project-specific materials and promptly sound the alarm to stakeholders. Shipping Sync: Coordinate hand-in-hand with Shipping teams to guarantee all orders go out accurately and on time, keeping records impeccably updated. Chaos Calm: Masterfully manage expedited orders and emergency requests, ensuring minimal disruption to the baseline schedule. Inbound Alignment: Coordinate inbound deliveries of materials and components to lock perfectly into step with the active Production Schedule. Future Forecasting: Harness data from Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) meetings to forecast production capacity and accurately predict under-utilization or over-capacity waves well in advance. Resource Blueprinting: Plan production capacity, raw materials requirements, and shipping constraints utilizing S&OP forecast insights. R&D Catalyst: Coordinate between Production, the Toolshop, and Engineering to schedule new product testing, ensuring all necessary details required for a flawless test run are secured. Debrief Connoisseur: Spearhead pre- and post-test meetings to analyze outcomes and confidently map out the next course of action. Reporting, Measuring, & Improving (The Optimizer) Rate Refinement: Partner with Supervisors and the Operations Coordinator to maintain, test, and refine standard production rates while verifying recommended pack sizes for exciting new products. Continuous Improvement Champion: Drive relentless optimization in the workflow from the production floor to the shipping dock, as well as within the scheduling process itself. Performance Reporting: Track and report on adherence to the production plan and shipping deadlines, bringing data-backed recommendations for improvement to the table. Key Qualifications Education: Graduate diploma in Supply Chain Management or a closely related field is required. Experience: A minimum of 5 years of proven experience in a production scheduling or related manufacturing/supply chain role.
