Job Title: Production Worker – Vegetable Room
Job Description
This role focuses on hands-on production work in the vegetable room, supporting the preparation of fillings for spring rolls in a cold, wet, and fast-paced food manufacturing environment. You will handle, chop, and process large quantities of vegetables, operate and support machinery, and perform end-of-shift cleaning while following strict food safety and hygiene standards.
Responsibilities
Work in the vegetable room to support the creation of spring roll fillings and other vegetable-based products.
Chop cabbage, carrots, and other vegetables by hand using knives and process them through shredding machines.
Trim carrots and cabbage to specified sizes and quality standards before processing.
Lift and move large boxes of vegetables and push heavy carts weighing up to 50 lbs in and out of coolers.
Reach into deep bins and large buckets filled with vegetables and cold water repeatedly throughout the shift.
Manage and support production activities around vegetable processing equipment while following safety procedures.
Wash and rinse vegetables thoroughly to meet food safety and quality requirements.
Maintain a clean and organized work area in a wet, messy vegetable room with a constantly wet floor and food scraps.
Perform end-of-shift cleaning, including washing equipment, tools, and work surfaces according to sanitation guidelines.
Follow all hygiene rules, including removal of jewelry and adherence to dress code and PPE requirements.
Adapt to working in different departments as needed, supporting general production tasks as assigned.
Stand for 8–10 hours per day while performing repetitive tasks in a cold environment.
Follow instructions and basic documentation in English to complete daily production tasks safely and accurately.
Essential Skills

Comfort and competence using a knife to chop vegetables safely and efficiently.
Ability to reach into deep bins and buckets for vegetables repeatedly.
Comfort working in a very wet, messy environment with a constantly wet floor and food scraps.
Ability to work in a cold environment at approximately 8–10 degrees temperature.
Basic English skills sufficient to understand instructions and safety guidelines.
Willingness to perform end-of-shift cleaning and sanitation tasks.
Ability to follow strict hygiene and dress code requirements, including removal of jewelry and adherence to PPE rules.
Food manufacturing experience.
Cutting experience with vegetables or other food products.
Experience or comfort working in general production or food production environments.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in vegetable processing or similar food production roles.
Comfort working with vegetable cutting and shredding machines.
Flexibility to move between different departments as production needs change.
Availability to work Monday to Friday from 5:30 AM to 2:00 PM.
Availability to work Saturdays frequently as part of the regular schedule.
Willingness to work on a rolling contract with the potential to transition to a permanent role.
Openness to learning food safety and sanitation best practices on the job.
Ability to work effectively in a family-oriented team environment.

Work Environment
You work in a food manufacturing facility, primarily in a vegetable room kept at approximately 8–10 degrees, which is cold, wet, and often messy due to water and food scraps on the floor. The environment involves constant standing for 8–10 hours, frequent lifting of up to 50 lbs, and pushing heavy carts in and out of coolers. The dress code is strictly controlled for food safety: you must remove all jewelry, cannot wear open sleeves, skirts, or shorts, and cannot use nail polish, acrylic nails, or fake eyelashes. A lab coat or smock is required, and hair and beard nets are provided. The company supplies rubber gloves, an apron, and all necessary hair nets as personal protective equipment. The shift runs Monday to Friday from 5:30 AM to 2:00 PM, with Saturday work frequent and expected. The role takes place in a structured production environment with clear hygiene and safety protocols that must be followed at all times.
