Position Overview
:
The
Process Operator
for
Calabrian
in Timmins, Ontario, Canada is responsible to meet the company’s production goals and participate in the day-to-day operation of the plant. The Process Operator reports directly to the Shift Engineer and the Operations supervisor and is responsible for the safe and efficient maintenance and operation of the plant. This position requires the incumbent to work on a fixed rotation but relieve on 2 shifts within said rotation as needed. This position is subject to shift change with notice for any notice greater than 24 hours outside of their rotational coverage. to ensure maximum production quantity and quality, while supporting the policies, goals, and objectives of the company.
What you will be doing:
Operate and monitor process equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable plant operations Monitor, record, and analyze process data including pressure, temperature, flow rates, and product quality metrics
Operate process control systems, including manual, pneumatic, PLC, and DCS controls
Troubleshoot process, equipment, and control system issues and escalate concerns as needed
Perform routine inspections of pumps, tanks, piping, gauges, meters, and other process equipment
Conduct basic mechanical maintenance activities, including work on pumps, valves, and related equipment
Collect and analyze process samples to verify product quality and support process control activities
Load, unload, and transfer raw materials and finished products via railcars and tank trucks
Perform railcar receiving, switching, loading, and unloading activities
Operate mobile equipment, including forklifts, in support of plant operations
Complete required operational records, logs, inspections, and documentation accurately and timely
Participate in continuous improvement, reliability initiatives, root cause investigations, and Management of Change (MOC) activities
Assist with the development, review, and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Train and mentor new operators on operational procedures, safety practices, and plant processes
Required Qualifications:
3rd Class Stationary Engineer Certificate required (4th Class Stationary Engineer may be considered)
Minimum 3 years of experience in an industrial plant or manufacturing environment
Familiarity with process equipment, troubleshooting, and reliability improvement activities
Experience operating and monitoring industrial utility or process systems
Knowledge of chemical process safety, industrial equipment, and personal protective equipment (PPE)
Ability to participate in a 24-hour on-call rotation
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to maintain accurate records, logs, and documentation
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
