Job DescriptionJob Description Chief Resource Geologist Ontario | Full-Time The Opportunity Skyline Recruitment is seeking an experienced Chief Resource Geologist for a well-established mining operation in Ontario. This is a senior technical and leadership opportunity for a geologist with strong experience in mineral resource estimation, geological modelling, QA/QC, and resource governance. The successful candidate will play a key role in overseeing resource calculations, supporting life-of-mine planning, mentoring technical staff, and ensuring that resource models and supporting documentation meet industry best practices. The role is ideally suited to an experienced resource geologist with a background in gold mining, underground operations, or advanced exploration projects. Key Responsibilities Lead the preparation, review, and documentation of annual and semi-annual mineral resource estimates. Act as a technical resource for mineral resource calculations and supporting documentation. Review and validate block models prepared by site geology teams. Ensure alignment with CIM best practices and NI 43-101 reporting requirements. Support life-of-mine planning in collaboration with engineering, production, and exploration teams. Maintain governance over geological databases, QA/QC protocols, assay practices, and drill-hole data. Complete geological models and mineral resource estimations for assigned projects. Review databases for errors and monitor QA/QC programs. Complete 3D geological interpretation, including structural, lithological, and mineralization models. Conduct geostatistical analysis and variography to support block modelling. Produce, validate, and document block model estimations. Prepare and contribute to technical reports and resource estimation documentation. Communicate changes in resource estimates to internal stakeholders. Recommend improvements to modelling processes, workflows, and technical standards. Mentor and support resource geology, database, and QA/QC personnel. Promote collaboration between geology, engineering, production, and exploration teams. Qualifications and Experience The ideal candidate will bring: A university degree in geology, geoscience, or a related discipline. Professional Geoscientist designation in Canada, or eligibility to obtain the required registration. A minimum of approximately 10 years of relevant mining or exploration experience. Strong experience in mineral resource estimation and geological modelling. Experience working in a gold mining or gold exploration environment. Familiarity with CIM best practices and NI 43-101 reporting standards. Strong knowledge of geological databases, QA/QC procedures, and block model validation. Excellent communication, leadership, and technical reporting skills. The ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary technical teams. Experience with software such as Datamine, Leapfrog, Deswik, AutoCAD, or similar modelling platforms would be considered a strong asset.
