Building Ontario Fund (BOF) is seeking a full-time Principal, Investment Finance . (This job posting represents an existing vacancy.) PURPOSE OF POSITION Serve as a trusted advisor to the Head, Investment Finance and accountable for supporting investment activities across the entire investment life cycle for the Building Ontario Fund's portfolio. Typical projects will involve construction financing and/or shorter-duration term financing, across BOF's focus sectors, typically as a co-investor with an institutional lender. The role will focus on the administration and performance management of loans, equity investments, guarantees, and other financial products, ensuring investments are monitored effectively, risks are managed proactively, and legal and contractual obligations are met. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Portfolio Oversight and Leadership Assist with strategic direction and oversight of investment administration and investment risk activities. Act as a trusted partner to the investment team to assist with matters that may impact investment administration and compliance management. Ensure alignment of Investment Finance operations with BOF's mandate, risk appetite and organizational objectives. Help implement and supervise investment monitoring frameworks, performance metrics and risk management processes across multiple asset classes and sectors. Provide subject-matter expertise in asset servicing, investment risk management and investment reporting and analytics. Provide mentorship and leadership to junior team members, fostering a culture of innovation, integrity, and accountability. Support the development and execution of the BOF strategic vision, aligning investment objectives with the needs of Ontario's priority sectors. Funding, Repayments and Portfolio Stewardship Partner with Legal, Investment Management, Finance and Risk Management teams to resolve contractual disputes, negotiate amendments and manage default scenarios. Collaborate with Finance on accounting treatment, wire transfers and reconciliation of investment-related activities. Assist in providing inputs into cash flow forecasting, repayment analysis and loan loss provisions. Contribute to funding, repayment and debt service activities; ensuring accuracy, timeliness and compliance with agreements. Monitor maturity and repayment of loans and ensure all Sponsor /Borrower obligations to BOF have been fully satisfied. Partner with Investment Management and Legal teams to ensure Sponsor/Borrower requests for consents, postponements and/or amendments are appropriately managed and approved changes or enforcement actions are properly captured. Governance, Compliance and Risk Management Help develop investment monitoring tools to drive efficiency and enhance controls. Assist with driving efficiency and improvements. Create and maintain investment reporting to provide stakeholders with valuable insights. Manage investment and finance performance dashboards and KPls. Oversee the maintenance of investment finance systems, data repositories and reporting tools to ensure accuracy and efficiency. Proactively monitor loan performance, identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to safeguard the BOF's resources and reputation. Data, Systems and Process Excellence Represent Investment Finance on departmental projects and cross-functional initiatives. Develop investment monitoring tools to drive efficiency and enhance controls. Create and manage insightful investment reporting to provide stakeholders with valuable insights. Manage investment and finance performance dashboards and KPls Oversee the maintenance of investment financesystems, data repositories and reporting tools to ensure accuracy and efficiency. Assist with driving efficiency and improvements, including the adoption of technology solutions for investment administration and compliance tracking. Oversee preparation of materials for Senior leadership and Board presentations. Qualifications Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in finance, Business, Economics, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience. Master's Degree or Professional Designation (Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), or Chartered Financial Analyst(CFA)), preferred, but not required. Minimum of seven (7) years of progressive experience in infrastructure investment support, project finance, or investment/asset management, preferably in a private market industry. Experience managing large-scale infrastructure project contracts through the post-close phase. Proven experience interpreting and enforcing complex legal agreements and financing documentation. Demonstrated leadership experience managing professional teams and fostering a high performance culture. Track record in working with diverse stakeholders, including technical advisors, lenders, and project sponsors. Knowledge and Skills Strong understanding of project financing structures, lender requirements, and the technical due diligence processes. In-depth knowledge of infrastructure investment lifecycle, from project development to operations. Advanced financial analysis, risk assessment, and portfolio management skills. Proficiency in interpreting financial models, performance reports, and compliance documentation. Exceptional negotiation, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts to diverse audiences. Strategic thinking with the ability to balance risk management and operational efficiency. Collaborative mindset with proven stakeholder relationship management skills. The expected salary for this role is CA$144,000-$180,000 for candidates who meet the stated qualifications.
