Job summary The Planning and Control Manager is responsible for the effective development, monitoring, and coordination of project schedules, budgets, and resources to ensure the successful execution of the sugar factory construction project. The role oversees planning, progress tracking, risk analysis, and performance measurement in alignment with contractual and project requirements. Essential duties, responsibilities and accountabilities: Project Planning & Scheduling Develop and maintain the Master Project Schedule using Primavera P6 or similar software. Define project work breakdown structure (WBS), key milestones, and critical path. Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to ensure integrated planning across all phases. Monitor and update schedules based on actual progress and performance trends. Progress Monitoring & Control Track and report physical and financial progress against the baseline plan. Generate daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports with variance analysis. Implement earned value management (EVM) techniques to assess project performance. Budgeting and Cost Control Assist in project cost estimation and budget preparation. Monitor actual costs and commitments against planned values. Provide cost forecasts and identify deviations or potential overruns. Risk Management Identify schedule-related risks and propose mitigation strategies. Coordinate with other departments to assess impact of design changes, procurement delays, or construction issues. Resource Planning Analyze and forecast resource requirements for labor, equipment, and materials. Coordinate with HR and subcontractors to ensure availability of manpower and critical resources. Communication & Reporting Provide planning and progress reports to senior management and stakeholders. Lead coordination meetings related to scheduling, reporting, and control functions. Ensure alignment between contractors and the client regarding timelines and deliverables. Qualifications & Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field. 12-16+ years of experience in planning and control, with at least 5 years in large-scale industrial projects. Proficient in Primavera P6, MS Project, and MS Excel. Strong understanding of EPC project phases and interdependences. Knowledge of contract administration and cost control principles. Familiarity with FIDIC or similar contract frameworks is an advantage. Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
