The Pharmacy Technician is responsible for dispensing and compounding of drugs, as delegated by a Pharmacist, and the distribution component of Pharmacy Services, in keeping with the standards of Hospital Pharmacy practice.
PROGRAM INCENTIVE
North Bay Regional Health Centre is offering $5000 in exchange for a two-year commitment to the Health Centre as a Regulated Pharmacy Technician. Funds are received in increments throughout the two-year commitment.
QualificationsCertification/Experience/Knowledge
Graduate from a Pharmacy Technician course or equivalent required
Certified Pharmacy Technician (Ontario College of Pharmacists)
Experience in a hospital pharmacy and hospital pharmacy automated technologies are assets
Knowledge and experience with Meditech an asset
Skills/Abilities
Computer skills (i.e. Microsoft Word) required
Demonstrated excellent judgment and proven analytical skills required
Good attendance and work record required
Must demonstrate commitment to ensure the safety of fellow workers, patients, volunteers, and visitors
Must support and contribute to a culture of safety and prevention of adverse health events in this organization
Bilingualism (Advanced level English/French) is required. All unilingual candidates are encouraged to apply and may be considered if the identified French requirement has been met or there are no successful bilingual candidates. A formal French test will be conducted to evaluate the proficiency level
