The Opportunity:
The Pharmacy Support Student has primary responsibility for accurately performing administrative duties including processing statements and payments, filing/scanning of prescription records, triaging phone calls, and arranging courier shipments. In addition, the Pharmacy Support Student will assist with picking and packing of medications/compounded products, receiving stock, general pharmacy maintenance/cleaning, and other duties as assigned.
The Pharmacy Support Student is expected to participate in all aspects of Sentrex Pharmacy required of a team player. All roles at Sentrex Pharmacy may be cross trained as permitted by scope of practice, and you may be required to help out in other areas of the pharmacy.
This is a fixed-term summer position.
A Day in the Life (What you will do here):
Scan/file pharmacy paperwork including prescription records.
Arrange courier shipments.
Assist with master data management and cleanup.
Processing account payments and account receivable statements.
Triage incoming phone calls.
Pick and package medication and compounding orders.
General maintenance/cleaning of pharmacy.
Adherence to all relevant guidelines including the established Standard Operating Procedures and all applicable regulatory requirements as set out by the Provincial College of Pharmacists.
Attends and participates in staff meetings.
Perform other duties as assigned by manager.
What you need to ensure you are set up for success:
High school diploma completed
Current enrollment in a post-secondary institution
Experience with MS Office an asset
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English required, ability to communicate in other languages is an asset
Highly organized with strong attention to detail
Ability to self-manage time, set daily priorities and multi-task in order to meet various competing work deadlines
Excellent interpersonal skills, with ability to work independently as well as within a team
Ability to physically stand for extended periods of time and lift/move up to 50 pounds
