Job Summary
Graceland Pharmacy is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Assistant to join our healthcare team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to support pharmacy operations and patient care in a fast-paced medical environment.
As a Pharmacy Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring accurate medication dispensing, maintaining pharmacy inventory, and providing compassionate support to patients and healthcare professionals
Education and experience
· One year of
current
experience working in a pharmacy is required
· Applicants should be available to work a flexible schedule.
Skills
Strong knowledge of medical terminology and medication management protocols
Excellent attention to detail to ensure accuracy in prescription processing and inventory control
Compassionate patient care skills with effective communication abilities
Ability to work efficiently within a team environment while managing multiple tasks
Familiarity with pharmacy software systems and inventory management tools is a plus
Responsibilities and Duties
Assist licensed pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications accurately and efficiently
using computer systems to generate stock lists and labels
ordering medications and medical/pharmacy supplies
Manage inventory by stocking shelves and tracking expiration dates
Maintain confidentiality of patient information in compliance with healthcare regulations
receiving, loading, and unloading deliveries
Help with administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, and documentation related to medication records
selling over-the-counter medicines and front store items
answering customers questions face to face or by phone
preparing, packaging, assembling and labelling medication
handling and processing till transactions
general cleaning and housekeeping
referring problems or queries to the pharmacist or pharmacy manager
additional duties when necessary
