Compensation: $30.00 per hour for paid appointments, $18.00 per hour for floor hours and
administrative work
Work Hours: Working hours will vary based on business needs. The facility hours of operation are as follows: Monday to Friday 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM. Saturday to Sunday: Closed.

Job purpose
The personal trainer works with a team of professional staff that support the student leadership and goals of the organization. They are responsible for ensuring each guest of the Athletic and Wellness Centre (AWC) has an exceptional experience by providing a high standard of service. The personal trainer takes a holistic approach to providing services to members and clients. They aim to generate revenue through the provision of professional fitness training and related services. The personal trainer has an interest in working in a dynamic, rapidly changing, and fast-paced environment.
This position requires the personal trainer to foster cooperative relationships with student leaders as part of a student-focused organization.
Duties and responsibilities
Specific duties and responsibilities shall include, but not be limited to the following:
Fitness Services
Provides professional services to members in person, by telephone and/or email or video appointments
Conducts comprehensive fitness assessments for personal training clients; regularly re-evaluating their needs and monitoring progress
Provides one-on-one and group fitness training and other specialty fitness services
Generates maximum sales of AWC/CCSAI services and assists in processing sales
Conducts fitness consultations for prospective clients and makes professional recommendations including referrals within our network outside of the personal trainer scope of practice
Ensures cleanliness of the fitness centre and reports any safety concerns, damages or necessary repairs to the supervisor.
Assists the GSR staff in reinforcing the AWC Member’s Expectations
Creates a positive relationship and working environment with all members and staff
Aids in ensuring all CCSAI facilities reflect a professional image
Administrative Duties
Must be available for a minimum of two assigned weekday, four-hour shifts during peak business times as well as some flexibility for additional appointments
Must be able to attend AWC monthly staff meetings and other required department meetings and training
Will participate in and lead professional development workshops on site
Manages client information with confidentiality and maintains a high level or clerical ability
Qualifications
Education
Degree or diploma in an exercise/ health science discipline such as fitness or kinesiology as well as at least 1 year of certified personal training experience with a nationally recognized personal trainer certification.
Certification must be up to date and registered for the current year
Applicant must have a valid SIN (6 months to expiry)
Experience
1-3 years of documented, certified personal training experience
Experience working in a high-profile fitness services environment is an asset
Experience implementing comprehensive fitness assessment protocols including body composition, aerobic and anaerobic fitness assessment and various musculoskeletal assessments
Experience instructing group fitness classes is an asset
Specialized Knowledge
Proficiency in the use of computers, email, office and related applications
Experience using social media marketing for fitness services
CPR must be current
Must demonstrated knowledge of the fitness industry and current trends
