POSITION SUMMARY:
This newly created role provides support to the Director of People and Culture and the broader People and Culture team.
The People and Culture Services Business Partner is an integral member of the People and Culture team, providing operational HR support across the organization. This role supports recruitment and selection, employee and labour relations, HR policy and program administration, performance management, workforce planning, and employee engagement initiatives.
With strong interpersonal skills, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, this position helps ensure HR processes are delivered accurately and consistently while contributing to a positive workplace culture.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:
Lead full-cycle recruitment activities within the Applicant Tracking System (ATS), including preparing job postings, screening candidates, coordinating interviews, conducting reference checks, and preparing employment offers.
Lead and support leaders with workforce planning and employee development initiatives.
Provide guidance and support to leaders and employees on labour relations, performance management, workplace concerns, conflict resolution, and progressive discipline.
Lead return-to-work and accommodation processes, including WCB, LTD, and leave management.
Participate in committees, including the Health and Safety Committee, and other cross-functional committees.
Maintain accurate and confidential employee files including updates within the HR system for onboarding, employment changes, performance documentation, and salary administration records.
Conduct workplace investigations related to employee performance, human rights concerns, and interpersonal conflict, and prepare reports with recommendations for leadership based on
best practices, legislative requirements, and collective agreement interpretation where required.
Promote employee engagement and culture initiatives by coordinating recognition programs and planning events and activities throughout the year.
Assist with reviewing salary benchmarks and internal equity considerations to help ensure fair and consistent employment offers.
Support the development, implementation, and ongoing review of HR policies and procedures.
Ensure compliance with key people processes and organizational requirements, including onboarding, new hire feedback checkpoints, stay interviews, and exit interviews.
WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
Post-secondary education in Human Resources is required
CPHR Candidacy would be considered an asset
Progressive HR experience (approximately 3-5 years) with a focus on employee and labour relations, as well as recruitment and selection, disability management, and workforce planning
Experience in a large not-for-profit environment is considered an asset.
Strong working knowledge of HR legislation, employment standards, and HR best practices.
Experience maintaining Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) and Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Proficiency in Microsoft 365 Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, and Teams.
Ability to stay organized in a high-volume environment and shift priorities quickly as needed.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders.
