Job DescriptionJob Description Payroll Specialist / Payroll Administrator Location: St. Catharines, ON Pay: $25–$30/hour, depending on experience Contract: Minimum 1 month, with potential for extension or permanent employment We are currently seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to join a manufacturing organization in St. Catharines. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong full-cycle payroll experience who is comfortable working in a unionized environment. About the Role The successful candidate will be responsible for managing full-cycle weekly payroll for approximately 114 employees , including: 100 unionized employees 14 salaried employees The company uses ADP Workforce and is looking for someone who can step in and provide payroll support during a transition period. The organization has recently been acquired by a U.S.-based company, and support and training resources are available. Detailed payroll procedures and instructions have been documented to assist with onboarding and the transition. Key Responsibilities Process full-cycle weekly payroll for approximately 114 employees Manage payroll for both unionized and salaried employees Ensure payroll is processed accurately and on time Interpret and apply collective agreements and union requirements Handle payroll-related inquiries and discrepancies Assist with portions of benefits administration, working alongside the Benefits team Maintain accurate payroll records and documentation Follow established payroll procedures and written instructions Work closely with internal teams and management during the company transition Qualifications Previous full-cycle payroll experience Experience using ADP Workforce Experience processing weekly payroll Experience working in a unionized environment Strong understanding of collective agreements Manufacturing or mill industry experience is considered a strong asset Experience with benefits administration is an asset Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently Excellent organizational and communication skills If you are an experienced payroll professional with unionized payroll and manufacturing experience, we would love to hear from you.
