Evening shifts, weekends, and holidays as required
Mississauga Convention Centre is currently seeking an experienced Pakistani Cuisine Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in traditional Pakistani cooking, especially Karahi and Lahori specialties, and be comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume event environment.
Responsibilities
Prepare authentic Pakistani dishes with attention to flavor, texture, and presentation.
Ensure strict adherence to food safety, sanitation, and hygiene regulations.
Maintain high food quality standards and ensure consistent taste across batches.
Monitor inventory, place orders, and control costs within budgeted targets.
Plan daily specials and weekly menus aligned with customer preferences and seasonal availability.
Manage kitchen workflows to maximize throughput while minimizing waste.
Proactively seek feedback, measure results, and adjust techniques for continuous improvement.
Train and mentor junior kitchen staff to improve skills and performance.
Collaborate with front-of-house to ensure timely service and accurate order execution.
Document recipes, methods, and plating standards for consistency and scalability.
Maintain a growth mindset, upskilling in emerging Pakistani cuisine trends.
Experience/Qualifications
Proven track record in authentic Pakistani cuisine with flavorful, consistent results.
Adherence to food safety, sanitation, and hygiene regulations at all times.
Strong cost control and inventory management within budget targets.
Ability to plan daily specials and seasonal menus based on availability.
Efficient kitchen workflow management to maximize throughput and minimize waste.
Mentor and train junior kitchen staff to elevate overall performance.
Strong communication and leadership in a results-driven, target-focused environment.
Documentation of recipes, methods, and plating standards for consistency.
Collaborate with front-of-house to ensure timely service and accuracy.
Commitment to continuous improvement and upskilling in Pakistani cuisine trends.
Experience in banquet halls, catering, or high-volume kitchens
Ability to handle large event-based cooking
Strong time management and teamwork skills
