Job Title: Platform (Observability) Engineer Client: Fintech trading Salary: $250,000 + Bonuses & Benefits Location: Montreal A leading systematic trading firm is hiring a hands-on Observability Platform Specialist. Models drive every decision here, which means data is everywhere: huge volumes of market and alternative data, large research compute, and low-latency production trading systems spread across regions. Understanding what all of that is doing, in real time, is a serious engineering problem, and this is the team that solves it. What you’ll do Own the metrics, logging, tracing and alerting platform end to end, from collection and ingestion to storage, querying, dashboards and alerts Build and run telemetry pipelines that handle very high throughput and high-cardinality data across multiple regions Create automated, self-service tooling so teams can get value from their data without raising tickets Cut alert noise and improve signal for on-call engineers Write production-grade code in Python, Go or Rust, including operators, exporters and pipeline components What you’ll bring 4+ years in DevOps, SRE or platform engineering Python and Git, plus Go or Rust Hands-on experience with a modern observability stack: Prometheus, VictoriaMetrics, Vector, Elastic, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, AlertManager Observability at scale for distributed applications on Kubernetes Strong Linux, Bash and containers background Clear communication, and a degree in Engineering, Computer Science or similar Nice to have Ansible or Terraform ClickHouse or other high-volume time-series/columnar stores Running high-cardinality telemetry with cost and retention controls Why this one Genuinely data-heavy: the telemetry is a big-data platform in its own right Full ownership of the platform and its direction, not a support seat Engineers use what you build every day, and the stakes are real #J-18808-Ljbffr
