Overview Fort St John Family Practice Associates is seeking a new family physician to join a friendly and supportive group of five practices and six long‑time staff members. The clinic is modern, fully furnished, and privately owned. Each physician is provided their own office, two exam rooms, and a shared procedure room. The practice employs a team‑based model that includes an in‑house nurse practitioner, licensed practical nurses, a dietitian, a social worker, mental health clinicians, a respiratory therapist, a pharmacist, and home‑care support. Clinic hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00am–5:00pm, offering a balanced split between in‑person and virtual health consultations. Location and Community Fort St John, a growing city of 23,000 residents, is the largest community in northeastern British Columbia. The city offers a range of outdoor activities, sports facilities, and an active arts scene. The clinic is situated only four minutes from a newly built hospital and care‑home facility, with a network of regional specialists in surgery, internal medicine, OB/GYN, psychiatry, orthopedics, pediatrics, dermatology, ophthalmology, and rheumatology readily available. Compensation and Incentives Base annual remuneration for a full‑time physician: $480,000++ Additional rural subsidiary incentives: retention premium 21.70% and a flat fee of $33,629 per year Signing bonus: $20,000 Moving allowance: $9,000–$15,000 Additional revenue opportunities through services performed outside the clinic (ER, surgical assists, maternity, hospital inpatient, anesthetics, etc.) Job Details and Expectations Full‑time or part‑time commitment Salary and benefits payable monthly on a shared overhead basis Optional services: ER, obstetrics, hospital, home visits, long‑term care, substance use care, palliative care, surgical assists Solo practice available with no mandatory FPSC portal participation Awarded rural retention premium No daily minimum required Locum payment based on billings within longer‑term employment Requirements Proficiency with the MOIS electronic medical record system (language skill an asset) Fluency in English Travel expenses reimbursed Average patient volume per day: 28–42 Benefits The clinic offers structured remuneration, bonuses, and allowances for relocation, with the option to earn additional income through private billing of external services.
