We are seeking a Senior Municipal Roadways Engineer / Project Manager to lead the planning, design, and delivery of roadway, transportation, and bus transit infrastructure projects across British Columbia. This role is based out of our Burnaby office and follows a hybrid work model, offering flexibility while maintaining strong collaboration with our multidisciplinary teams. The successful candidate will thrive in a complex, fast paced project environment, navigating multiple stakeholders, evolving project requirements, and technically challenging design conditions. You will provide technical leadership, mentor junior staff, and play a key role in delivering high quality solutions for municipal and regional clients. Key Responsibilities: - Lead roadway and bus transit design projects from concept development through detailed design and construction. - Oversee preparation of design reports, drawings, tender packages, and contract administration documents. - Manage project budgets, scopes, schedules, deliverables, and client communication. - Provide QA/QC review of engineering work to ensure technical excellence. - Lead or coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including transportation planning, stormwater, utilities, geotechnical, and environmental specialists. - Support business development activities, including proposal writing and client presentations. - Mentor and guide junior engineers, EITs, and technical staff. - Bachelor's in Civil Engineering. - Registered P.Eng. in British Columbia (or eligible for immediate registration). - Minimum 10 years of experience in municipal roadway design and project management. - Mandatory experience working with British Columbia municipalities (e.g. Vancouver, Burnaby, Coquitlam, Surrey, Langley, Richmond, North Vancouver, etc.). - Strong knowledge of TAC guidelines, BC municipal standards, and provincial design requirements. - Demonstrated ability to work effectively in complex, multi-stakeholder project environments. - Proven experience leading teams and managing client relationships. - BRT (Bus Rapid Transit) or RapidBus design experience is an asset. - Transit Exchange design experience is an asset - Proficiency with Civil 3D, AutoCAD, and related design tools. - Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills - Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment Ideally, You'll Also Have: - Experience working on Bus Rapid Transit infrastructure projects in British Columbia - Experience working on Transit Exchange design - Experience with BIM workflows and digital design tools - Understanding of complete streets, active transportation, or sustainable design principles Jacobs is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
