We are currently seeking an experienced Tool Maker to join our growing team. This position is ideal for a highly skilled Tool Maker who takes pride in craftsmanship, problem-solving, and delivering exceptional quality.
This role requires the successful candidate to travel as needed to customer locations to support tooling during mold tryouts, production launches, repairs, modifications, and troubleshooting.
Key Responsibilities
Construct, alter, repair a variety of molds to close tolerances as required to fit and assemble parts
Participate as assigned in all phases of mold-making projects from start to finish, including spotting, grinding, polishing, and assembly
Perform numerous grindings, EDM operations, fittings on projects as assigned; verify accuracy and functionality of work at all stages to ensure total customer satisfaction
Participate in projects (from one to six at a time); balance priorities in personal work schedule to ensure timely delivery of error-free products to customers always maintaining customer-focused priorities
Qualifications
Minimum 5+ years of experience building and repairing precision tooling and molds.
Ability and willingness to travel within Canada, the United States, and internationally as required.
Strong working knowledge of computers required. Ability to view drawings and build based on that knowledge.
Strong understanding of mold construction
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and customer service abilities.
Valid Ontario driver's license and Canadian passport
Experience running manual machine tools under limited supervision
Experience using precision measuring & gauging equipment
Experience using machinists' hand and power-driven tools
Experience using material-handling equipment
Able to keep equipment and work area clean
Knowledge of advanced shop mathematics
Willingness to perform other work as necessary to meet production demands
Follow all safety and work rules and practices
Strong work ethic and highly motivated
Meticulous attention to detail and well organized
Strong verbal communication skills
Independent and willing to take initiative
Able to work in a fast-paced constantly changing environment with tight deadlines and occasional long hours
