Every physician joining our team will build on a strong foundation of: Comprehensive longitudinal family practice Same-day and urgent access for patients Collaborative, team-based care Beyond primary care, physicians have the opportunity to shape a practice that reflects their interests, skills, and stage of career. Opportunities may include: Emergency Medicine (Alternate Funding Agreement for 24-hour emergency care) Inpatient Care Long-Term Care Obstetrics Surgical Assisting GP-Anesthesia Teaching through McMaster University and the Rural Ontario Medical Program (ROMP) Physician Leadership and Quality Improvement Focused areas of clinical interest that complement our community's needs The Minto-Mapleton Family Health Organization consists of nine physicians providing comprehensive office-based care, inpatient medicine, and a broad range of hospital services. Many physicians also participate in Emergency Medicine, Long-Term Care, and Obstetrics, creating a collegial environment where physicians support one another while developing practices that align with their individual strengths. Emergency Department shifts are 24 hours and may also be shared as 12-hour shifts if preferred. Compensation is provided through an Alternate Funding Agreement (AFA). Palmerston & District Hospital is an approvedEmergency Department Mentorship Programsite. Eligible physicians who are new to Ontario emergency practice may access up to four months of funded mentorship to support a confident transition into rural Emergency Medicine. While many physicians join our team with independent emergency experience, this program provides an additional layer of support for those who would benefit from structured mentorship as they establish their practice.
