PWT is looking for reliable, motivated individuals to join our manufacturing team asMillwright - Certifiedat ourGolden, B.C.mill.
As a Millwright - Certified, you’ll play a key role in keeping our production operations running safely and efficiently. This is a great opportunity to build a career in the engineered wood products industry with a company that values safety, teamwork, and employee development.
Hourly Wage:$50.115
What You’ll Do:
Complete preventative, predictive, reactive, and precision industrial maintenance
throughout the facility
Install, maintain, test, evaluate, and repair components and systems such as conveyors, fans, pumps, belt and chain drives, and process machinery
Read blueprints, diagrams, and schematic drawings to determine work procedures
Install, align, dismantle, and move stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment (pumps, fans, tanks, conveyors, furnaces, generators) using hand and power tools
Assemble machinery and equipment prior to installation using hand and power tools and welding equipment
Operate hoisting and lifting devices such as cranes, jacks, and tractors to position machinery and parts
Inspect and examine machinery and equipment to detect irregularities and malfunctions
Install, troubleshoot, and maintain vacuum, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
Adjust machinery and repair or replace defective parts
Repair and overhaul mechanical systems and align moving components
Set up and adjust complex machinery for new patterns and production requirements
Analyze equipment performance and perform maintenance such as cleaning, lubrication, and testing
Maintain shop tooling and equipment
Construct or assist in directing construction of foundations for machinery
Clean, lubricate, and perform routine maintenance work
Apply mechanical repair principles to ensure machinery operates properly
Detect defects, excessive wear, and dimensional variations in components
Maintain a clean and safe working environment (shop and work area cleanup)
What You Bring to PWT:
Red Seal certification as an Industrial Mechanic (Millwright)
Journeyman certification recognized in British Columbia
Minimum 2 years of related experience or equivalent combination of training and experience
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical diagrams
Strong troubleshooting and mechanical aptitude
Effective communication and teamwork skills
Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
Sound judgment and decision-making skills
Ability to work in industrial environments including heights and confined spaces
