Job DescriptionJob Description Job Title: Millwright (Journeyperson, Apprentice, or Non-Ticketed) Job Description Join a mechanical installation team in Calgary to support the final stages of a large conveyor system project. In this hands-on millwright role, you will focus on the integration, commissioning, and optimization of new industrial conveyor systems in a fast-paced industrial environment. You will work on mechanical setup, alignment, testing, and final adjustments to ensure the equipment operates safely, reliably, and efficiently. Responsibilities Support the start-up and commissioning of new industrial conveyor systems in an active construction and industrial environment. Fabricate, customize, and install mechanical components as required to complete the conveyor installation and integration. Align frames, rollers, belts, motors, gearboxes, and drives to meet project specifications and ensure smooth system operation. Adjust and fine-tune sensors to ensure accurate detection, control, and system performance. Track conveyor belts, diagnose belt problems such as misalignment, and make the necessary mechanical adjustments. Perform levelling work using appropriate tools and laser equipment to ensure accurate installation. Tighten and secure motors, fasteners, bearings, guards, and moving parts to confirm the system is securely assembled and safe to operate. Inspect and verify that all guards, emergency stops, and lockout points are installed and functioning in accordance with safety requirements. Troubleshoot mechanical issues during commissioning and make corrective adjustments to improve reliability and reduce wear. Document deficiencies, punch-list items, and any issues identified during commissioning, and communicate them clearly to the project team. Work at heights and participate in installation tasks in an industrial setting while following all safety procedures. Use hand tools and personal tools effectively, including socket sets, wrenches, screwdrivers, levels, and measuring tools, to complete daily tasks. Collaborate with other trades and team members on site to coordinate work and maintain project timelines. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area and consistently follow site safety policies and procedures. Be available for extended shifts and overtime as required to support project milestones and deadlines. Essential Skills Experience working as a Millwright, Apprentice Millwright, or non-ticketed millwright with strong mechanical aptitude. Non-ticketed millwrights should have 3+ years of experience working on conveyors and commissioning activities. Proven experience with conveyor systems, including installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting. Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to diagnose and resolve mechanical issues. Standard hours typically from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Looking to bring 2 millwrights on early next week. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Calgary, AB.
