Medical Receptionist - Hys Centre - Reception (RCP) A Medical Receptionist is the first point of contact for patients and visitors. They are responsible for managing front desk operations, which include greeting patients, scheduling appointments and addressing inquiries. Their role ensures patients feel welcomed and informed. In addition they also handle a variety of critical tasks that facilitate efficient office management. Position Type: Full-time Role and Responsibilities Appointment Scheduling: Schedule and reschedule patient appointments, including follow-ups and consultations. Patient Care: Greet patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner. Manage patient check-in and walk patients to their exams and change them according to their exam. Administrative Tasks: Answer phone calls and respond to patient inquiries. Maintain and update patient records and databases (MRIS). Billing/Insurance: Process patient billing and payment transactions. Verify insurance information and assist with claims submissions. Incoming/Outgoing Faxes: Including sending appointment requests, attaching requisitions to future appointments, managing consent forms for report releases, and sending outgoing faxes as requested. Communication: Relay messages between patients and healthcare providers. Provide information regarding office policies, procedures and services. Compliance & Confidentiality: Adhere to provincial, federal and MIC privacy and confidentiality regulations to maintain patient confidentiality. Ensure compliance with medical office policies and procedures. Maintain a clean, organized and professional reception area and change room area. Qualifications and Education Requirements Education: High School diploma (required), completion of diploma from an accredited Medical Office Assistant program (preferred) Experience: Experience as a Medical Receptionist (preferred) Skills: Ability to complete repetitive tasks in a fast paced, high-pressure environment Excellent patient care and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a healthcare team. Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
