Overview Unit Clerk II is an integral part of the Oncology team, providing patient-centered, compassionate care to patients in the Oncology Clinic and Systemic Therapy Suite. As part of an interdisciplinary team, responsibilities include facilitating patient flow, booking appointments, answering phones, registration, file management, patient/family orientation, data collection, and supply procurement. Education Grade 12 or equivalent; post‑secondary education preferred. Extensive knowledge of medical terminology preferred. Recent experience (within 2 years) working in an oncology or related clinic. Knowledge of Cancer Care Ontario reporting preferred. Public relations/customer service training preferred. Successful completion of Cerner training. Qualifications Recent experience (within 2 years) working in an oncology or related clinic required. Ability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team in an extremely fast‑paced environment. Typing speed of 35‑40 wpm. Knowledge of oncology and systemic therapy procedures, terminology, and equipment. Excellent multi‑tasking and organizational skills. Ability to work closely with patients and provide family‑centered care. Professional telephone etiquette mandatory. Strong problem‑solving and critical‑thinking skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills when dealing with coworkers, other disciplines, departments, patients/families, family physicians, and external agencies. Strong interpersonal and conflict‑resolution skills. Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions. Receptive to instruction, direction, and change. Experience with Cerner PM Registration, Cerner Powerchart, Teletracking, ANSOS, MS Office applications. Previous experience using Plexxus SAP‑SRM requisitioning and troubleshooting.
