We’re Looking For:
We are seeking a Mechanical Services Supervisor with experience in managing an automotive service center. You will be part of a skilled team responsible for delivering vehicle reconditioning, repair, and inspection services for commercial and dealer customers. In this role, you will use your experience in leadership, automotive repair, and operations to monitor key performance indicators and support a team of service technicians. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in a similar role (Confirm with Compensation).

You Will:
● Supervise and mentor Automotive Service Technicians, Apprentices, Service Advisors, and office administrators.
● Allocate assignments, inspect work quality, and manage team performance.
● Lead by example by performing diagnostics or repairs during peak volumes or to troubleshoot complex issues.
● Serve as the primary technical resource for junior technicians on complex duties.
● Manage controllable expenses and ensure the department meets financial targets, KPIs, and profitability goals.
● Ensure all vehicles are billed correctly in accordance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
● Maintain customer relationships and participate in negotiations regarding fees, costs, and service agreements.
● Oversee shop equipment maintenance and ensure a safe, organized working environment.
● Manage workflow through internal systems including VTrace and OLA. ● Maintain positive business relationships with customers, which may include participating in negotiations regarding fees, costs, contracts, and service agreements.
● Serve as an escalation point and subject matter expert for the claims operations (arbitrations) team.
Who You Will Work With:
Reporting to the Operations Manager, this role will collaborate with the VLC leadership, Arbitrations, and Shared Services teams on a daily basis. You will also interact frequently with external vendors and commercial customers.
Where You Work:
Your work is performed as an Onsite employee at the Ottawa VLC.
Must Have’s:
● 3-5 years of supervisory experience
● Valid Automotive Service Technician License (310S in Ontario).
● 3-5 years of experience in repair and service of mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems.
● Strong communication and problem-solving skills with a professional attitude.
● Valid Driver’s License.
Nice to Have’s:
● Experience with the Mitchell estimating system.
● License to complete Motor Vehicle Inspections (MVI).
● Proficiency in Google Suite and comfort with internal systems (VTrace/OLA)

Compensation Range of
Annual Salary: $67,231.00 - $87,400.00 CAD
(Depending on experience, skill set, qualifications, and other relevant factors.)
