About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly analytical Mechanical Reliability Engineer to join their operations team in Kimberley . This role is crucial for ensuring the long-term durability and performance of mechanical systems and components. You will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to predict, prevent, and mitigate failures, thereby enhancing product lifespan and reducing maintenance costs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in failure analysis, statistical methods, and mechanical design principles, contributing to operational excellence and product robustness in the Northern Cape .
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement reliability testing plans for mechanical components and systems.
Perform failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) and risk assessments.
Analyze field data and warranty claims to identify failure trends and root causes.
Recommend design changes and process improvements to enhance product reliability.
Develop and maintain reliability prediction models using statistical techniques.
Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to address reliability issues throughout the product lifecycle.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical reliability engineering or a related discipline.
Proficiency in statistical analysis software and reliability engineering tools.
Strong understanding of failure mechanisms, materials science, and mechanical testing methods.
Experience with FMEA and other reliability assessment techniques.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
