Job DescriptionJob Description Our client, a designer and producer of imaging technology, is hiring a Mechanical Designer in Waterloo, ON. Responsibilities Work collaboratively within a team of mechanical, electrical, and machine shop professionals. Perform mechanical design and modeling using a Master Model. Utilize ERP systems for data management and conduct BOM maintenance. Create parts and update drawings as needed. Perform fit checks and verification work on the shop floor to ensure design accuracy. Qualifications Minimum of 5 years experience as a Mechanical Designer using Solidworks. Proficiency in working with sheet metals, welding processes, and plastics. Hands-on experience in a shop floor setting for fit checks and design verification. Understanding and experience with Master Models, including respecting interface planes and associated features. Experience with ERP maintenance and BOM creation. Experience with Arena ERP system is an asset. Work Environment This position requires working on-site for 5 days a week, with the flexibility to work from home on days when interaction with hardware or the shop floor is not necessary, such as during detailing or drawing tasks. The team consists of 4 mechanical engineers and a total of 30 individuals part of the program. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Waterloo, ON. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $60.00/hr. Workplace Type This is a fully onsite position in Waterloo,ON.
