Summary of responsibilities Reporting to the Manager, Outpatient Mental Health Services, Crisis & Mobile Response Services, and Assertive Community Treatment Team, the successful candidate will work as a member of the Outpatient Mental Health Services team. The Master’s Prepared Therapist works collaboratively with individuals who are experiencing the most severe, complex, rare, or chronic/persistent diagnosable addiction, mental health and concurrent disorder issues that significantly impair functioning in most areas such as home, school/work, and in the community. The Master’s Prepared Therapist applies mastery of addiction, mental health and concurrent disorder psychotherapy theory and skills when working with individuals, groups and families/caregivers. The therapist will provide a range of comprehensive services including intake, assessment, psychotherapy, consultation with client families, peers and other professionals, including consulting psychiatrists. Requirements of the job • Master’s Degree social sciences/health care related field • Registered with a relevant Ontario College whose members may practice the controlled act of psychotherapy • Has received specialized training and supervision which has provided them the opportunity to practice and integrate advanced level psychotherapy knowledge and skills • Minimum 3 years working experience and in-depth knowledge of delivering a range of psychotherapy interventions in the adult population experiencing addiction/concurrent disorder concerns including CBT, MI, ACT, DBT. • Strong assessment skills and ability to manage treatment efficacy • Superior interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with community partners • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and in a professional multi-disciplinary team environment including Psychiatry and Inpatient Mental Health Unit • Flexibility with a commitment to program development and quality improvement initiatives • Strong written and oral communication skills • Demonstrated regular, punctual attendance • Demonstrated commitment to patient safety • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing learning and maintains up-to-date professional skills and knowledge through formal and informal training, staying current in the treatment of addiction, mental health and concurrent disorders Assets: • Functional level in oral French – with testing completed
