Volunteer Marketing Team Lead
to shape our brand voice, amplify our mission, and lead a talented team of marketing volunteers.
In this role, you’ll drive the strategy behind how we connect with our community—from social media campaigns to event promotions to thought leadership content. You’ll report to our Co-President and collaborate with cross-functional teams to grow our reach and deepen engagement with women across Vancouver.
Note: We are hiring two leads to share the scope of the role and ensure continuity. Responsibilities will be divided between Event Marketing and Engagement Campaigns, based on the strengths of the candidates.
Responsibilities
Lead & Develop the Team
Lead, manage, and mentor a team of marketing volunteers (e.g., coordinators and/or content support roles)
Recruit, interview, and onboard new marketing volunteers as needed
Run regular team check-ins, set priorities, and support volunteer development through clear feedback and encouragement
Create a supportive, organized environment where volunteers can contribute meaningfully and sustainably
Drive Marketing Strategy
Develop and execute marketing plans aligned with Lean In Vancouver’s goals and programming calendar
Own and maintain a consistent content calendar across key channels (primarily social, with support for newsletter and website updates as applicable)
Ensure messaging is aligned with Lean In Vancouver’s voice, values, and community-first approach
Identify opportunities for thought leadership and storytelling content that reflects the experiences and needs of our community
Collaborate Across the Organization
Partner with Events, Circles, and Sponsorship teams to promote programs, initiatives, and campaigns
Collaborate with external partners and stakeholders when relevant (e.g., venues, sponsors, community organizations)
Represent marketing priorities at leadership check-ins and share updates as needed
Reporting & Learning
Monitor campaign and channel performance using available tools
Share simple monthly learnings: what performed well, what we should test next, and what support is needed
Iterate on messaging and formats based on data and community engagement
Desired Qualifications
5+ years of experience in leadership or managerial roles
At least one year of senior marketing experience
Deep understanding of social platforms and best practices
Proven experience managing, mentoring, or developing team members
Experience creating and executing marketing strategies
Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, both online and in-person
Project management experience, ability to manage multiple projects at the same time
Strong networking and client relationship management skills
Passionate about women’s empowerment and community building
Time Commitment
10 – 12 hours a month; more when Events are being planned & executed
Monthly team meeting & monthly leadership meetings (virtual)
Volunteer in-person events (optional)
