Hours of work: Monday to Thursday, 34 hours per week with flexible start/end times, some weekends as needed

Location: Hybrid – remote and on-site, Canadian Film Centre, 2489 Bayview Avenue

Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Senior Manager, Creative Impact & Outreach (and on occasion, the Director, Creative Impact), the Marketing & Communications Assistant will assist with a variety of CFC’s marketing and communications efforts, including digital marketing, campaigns, design, website, external relations, database work and special events support.
Responsibilities:
Communications
Assist with building press coverage reports
Assist with updating, maintaining and building press lists
Assist with preparing press clippings and press roundups and reports
Assist with writing and copyediting stories for the news section of CFC’s website
Assist with communications support for CFC events as required
Assist with internal communications as necessary
Social Media
Assist in developing and writing social media content (Facebook, X, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc)
Assist in maintaining and building social media calendar
Assist with building social media campaigns
Assist with gathering social media analytics and building reports
Assist with photography for social media as required
Marketing
Assist in developing and designing marketing collateral including proposals, reports, certificates, etc.
Assist with writing marketing collateral, including evites, proposals, certificates, etc.
Assist in monitoring engagement reports
Other
Assist with building various Marketing & Communications and Fundraising reports
Help update the website as necessary
Research support on marketing and communications tools
Required Qualifications:
Completed or working toward a degree in a Marketing/Communications or Public Relations
Excellent communications, writing and editing skills are required
Self-motivated
Strong organizational skills; ability to prioritize, multitask and meet deadlines
Detail-oriented
Assets:
Understanding of Content Management Systems, SEO, basic HTML
Experience in graphic design; proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite
Experience assisting with corporate social media accounts
Experience using Meltwater, Sprout Social and Salesforce
Previous internship or related experience in marketing or communications
