POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for the performance and leadership of manufacturing engineering and CNC programmer coordinators for the Winnipeg Transcona Fabco operations. Lead and participate in Fabco manufacturing readiness process including equipment uptime to ensure Fabco operations teams are always ready to build quality parts on time.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
Provide manufacturing engineering supervision, ensuring that manufacturing cells are properly supported.
Provide CNC programmer coordinator supervision, ensuring that manufacturing cells are properly supported.
Ensures product manufacturing, processes and projects are designed to be completed safely.
Participate in safety investigations and provide corrective measures to prevent similar incidents in the future
Works effectively as a member of the manufacturing leadership team to ensure operational metrics are achieved and any remedial action is actively pursued.
Leads the manufacturing engineering teams for MCI Fabco location in support of the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and any assigned strategic initiatives.
Leads assigned groups and project teams on continuous improvement activities using lean concepts and tools.
Reviews tasks and project assignments and balances the workload between group members to meet deadlines
Ensure make-buy analysis has the latest routing manual, plant capability and limitations
Lead and participate in Fabco manufacturing readiness process including equipment uptime to ensure Fabco operations teams are always ready to build quality parts on time.
Provides a progressive, interactive, innovative and collaborative work environment to maximize our ability to work as a team and make the organization more competitive and effective.
Ensure policies and processes are established and followed to ensure objectives for all requirements are met with respect to Health, Safety & Environmental and Quality programs within your scope of responsibility.
Sets departmental goals and metrics and holds those responsible accountable for achieving them.
Lead machine down time reduction initiatives through programs like P.M’s, TPM’s, Operator and maintenance training, robust OEM service tech engagement and replacing aged equipment accordingly.
Leads strategic change projects, as assigned.
Promotes an environment of continuous improvement and teamwork.
Other duties as assigned, including special projects.
WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
Degree or diploma in Manufacturing Engineering or a related field, or a combination of relevant coursework and hands-on experience. - A Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation is considered an asset.
Minimum of 5 years in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, with a strong understanding of production processes and continuous improvement methodologies.
Experience and familiarity of CNC Brake Press machines
Experience leading a team or collaborating effectively in a cross-functional environment.
Lean Manufacturing, APICS certification, or equivalent practical experience is an asset.
Strong working knowledge of MS Excel, Team Center, Oracle EBS, and other manufacturing-related software.
Experience with AutoCAD, UniGraphics, Power BI, and Microsoft Office is a plus.
Ability to assess complex challenges, implement data-driven solutions, and drive process efficiencies.
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and thrive in a dynamic work environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively engage with teams, leadership, and cross-functional departments.
Travel to the US may be required (20%)
