Manufacturing Engineer
Location: Brampton, ON L6T 5S8, Canada
Will be needed for an 8–12 month contract assignment at a manufacturing site in Brampton, Ontario.
The
Manufacturing Engineer
will be responsible for managing 3–4 smaller
automation projects
from initial concept through final buy-off. Projects will support
injection molding machine unload automation
and
pack-out automation
, including the full project lifecycle from idea development,
statement of work (SOW)
creation, vendor quote review, award, equipment buy-off, installation, and final acceptance.
Responsibilities
Lead 3–4 smaller
automation engineering projects
from concept through completion.
Develop project ideas into clear
statements of work (SOWs)
for automation suppliers and vendors.
Support the quote process, including review of vendor proposals, technical details, timelines, and project scope.
Coordinate project award, purchase activities, equipment build reviews, and supplier communication.
Participate in automation equipment buy-off, installation, commissioning, and final buy-off.
Work on projects related to
injection molding automation
, machine unload systems, and automated pack-out processes.
Support project execution across key phases including idea, SOW, quote, award, buy-off, installation, and final acceptance.
Collaborate with internal teams, maintenance, production, quality, and external automation vendors to ensure successful implementation.
Identify process improvement opportunities to improve efficiency, consistency, safety, and throughput in a manufacturing environment.
Qualifications
Experience as a
Manufacturing Engineer
,
Automation Engineer
,
Project Engineer
, or similar engineering role in a manufacturing environment.
Hands-on experience with
automation projects
, preferably involving
injection molding
, machine unloading, material handling, robotics, or pack-out systems.
Ability to manage projects from concept through installation and final acceptance.
Experience creating or supporting
SOW development
, vendor quoting, supplier selection, and equipment buy-off.
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, production equipment, automation integration, and continuous improvement.
Ability to work cross-functionally with vendors, production teams, maintenance, engineering, and quality.
Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and project coordination skills.
Experience supporting equipment installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and final buy-off in a plant environment.
Availability for an 8–12 month contract assignment in Brampton, ON L6T 5S8, Canada.
