The Managing Director, Marketing and Communications is responsible for driving membership growth, revenue generation, and brand excellence across the their premiere clubs. This role leads the development and execution of integrated marketing and communications strategies that support membership acquisition, retention, engagement, and referrals while maximizing returns on marketing investment. In addition to membership growth, the Managing Director, Marketing and Communications is accountable for increasing revenue across key business lines, including medical and sport medicine clinics, wellness services, dining operations, events, and other ancillary Club offerings. Working closely with the Executive Team, Sales Directors, and Club leadership, this role serves as a strategic advisor on brand positioning, market differentiation, customer experience, and growth opportunities. The Director of Marketing will lead a high-performing marketing and communications team, foster strong external partnerships, and leverage data-driven insights to deliver measurable business results. Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Leadership & Growth Develop and execute comprehensive marketing and communications strategies aligned with organizational growth, revenue, and membership targets. Partner with Executive Leadership and Sales Directors to identify opportunities that drive membership acquisition, retention, referrals, and overall revenue growth. Lead, mentor, and develop the marketing team while managing external agencies, consultants, and strategic partners. Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and emerging opportunities to maintain a strong competitive position. Brand Development & Market Positioning Strengthen and elevate the brand presence of all Clubs through consistent and compelling messaging, visual identity, and member experiences. Ensure brand excellence across digital platforms, Club environments, campaigns, events, and member touchpoints. Establish and cultivate strategic partnerships with landlords, corporate tenants, local organizations, influencers, and community stakeholders to expand awareness and generate qualified membership leads. Communications & Content Strategy Provide strategic oversight of all member, alumni, and prospect communications across websites, email marketing, Google Ads, social media, blogs, member applications, digital advertising, and other marketing channels. Ensure communications are timely, engaging, audience-focused, and aligned with organizational objectives. Establish content priorities, editorial standards, and approval processes that enable efficient and effective execution. Digital Marketing, Analytics & Innovation Oversee the performance and user experience of digital platforms, including websites and member applications, ensuring they support engagement, conversion, and brand consistency. Leverage AI, automation, and emerging technologies to enhance marketing effectiveness, content creation, and operational efficiency. Analyze key performance indicators and marketing metrics to evaluate campaign effectiveness and business impact. Use data-driven insights to optimize marketing investments, improve conversion rates, and continuously enhance performance across all Clubs and business units. Requirements Proven track record of developing and executing successful marketing strategies that drive growth 10+ years of progressive experience in marketing, communications, brand, and growth-focused roles Post-secondary degree/certificate in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field Leadership experience managing teams and external partners or agencies Strong experience with digital marketing, websites, analytics, and data-driven decision-making Knowledge of AI (such as LLMs, automation platforms and analytical tools) and emerging marketing technologies Experience in hospitality, fitness, wellness, lifestyle, or premium consumer brands is an asset Agency experience would be an asset Strong leadership and relationship-building skills Exceptional communication skills Digitally fluent and analytically strong Highly organized and adaptable Benefits Competitive Base Salary: Market-aligned executive compensation tailored to the luxury fitness and hospitality sector.
