Job Purpose
As part of the Canada Innovative Medicine (IM) business analytics team, this position will provide tactical and strategic analyses for a designated product/portfolio of products within SUN Innovative Medicines Business in Canada (IM). The incumbent will design, coordinate, and execute projects (primary market research and secondary analysis) to support commercial business decisions.
Additionally identify potential marketplace opportunities. Working collaboratively with Brand Management and other cross‑functional members to synthesize findings into actionable insights is critical to this role. In addition, she/he will bring a comprehensive outside‑in perspective to shape Brand and/or New Product strategies and facilitate decision‑making throughout a product(s)’ life‑cycle by conducting primary market research projects to gain insights, including ethnographic understanding, message recall, product value proposition to prescriber, and patient journey mapping.
Duties and Responsibilities
Drive comprehensive outside‑in strategic perspective bringing value‑adding insights on patients, customers, competitors, payers and regulators.
Integrate research, intelligence, analytics and intuition to generate insights that enable fact‑based decision making.
Lead situational analysis including patient journey, development and alignment of strategic planning assumptions.
Support key development decision points with commercial market opportunity assessment, positioning, segmentation for products in new indications.
Design and plan all facets (key business and intelligence questions) to enable execution of market research, competitive intelligence and analytics based on a sound understanding of the research tools, techniques and datasets to bring localized insights.
Enable assessment of risks and opportunities for all Canada IM products.
Engage with broader (internal and external) stakeholders to understand and bring insights into treatment pathways, incentives/money flow, market access and related topics.
Additional Responsibility (Only applicable to customer‑facing roles)
Report any adverse event received from customers for company products to the pharmacovigilance department / Drug Safety on the same day or within one business day.
Qualifications
University degree (undergraduate or graduate level) in science or business is required.
Minimum eight years relevant experience at pharmaceutical companies and/or strategic, marketing, or health care consultancy companies is required.
Sound understanding of specialty therapeutic disease areas.
Experience in market research, brand management, or analytics with a leading pharma company or solution provider is required.
Superior analytical skills – high comfort in using tools (e.g., Excel) to analyze and visualize data via standard tools/charting methods; ability to effectively present and defend analyses.
Project management excellence in facilitation of cross‑functional teams within a high matrix environment.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Able to engage and interact effectively with leadership; understand how to read audience and customize approach accordingly.
Deals well with ambiguity/intensity – operates well in a fast‑paced environment driven by leadership requests and evolving needs of the franchise.
Accountable: makes things happen; takes responsibility for execution; speaks up and voices opinion.
Strong administrative and attention to detail.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, and basic analytics platforms.
Proficiency in the French language is an asset.
Working Conditions
Hybrid – 3 days a week in Mississauga.

Compensation and Benefits
The presently‑anticipated base compensation pay range for this position is $100,000 to $122,000. Actual base compensation may vary based on a number of factors, including but not limited to geographical location and experience. The position is part of the Annual Performance Bonus Plan. Employees are eligible to participate in company employee benefit programs, which include medical, dental and vision coverage; life insurance; RRSP savings plan; and the employee assistance program. Employees also receive various paid time off benefits, including vacation time and sick time.
