Working closely with senior leadership and leading a small finance team, you will oversee full cycle accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, compliance, and audit activities. Your Responsibilities You'll lead the organization's full cycle accounting, general ledger management, month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes. You'll oversee budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling, and variance analysis to support informed operational and strategic decisions. You'll prepare financial statements, Ministry reporting, management reports, dashboards, and presentations for senior leadership and the Board. You'll ensure compliance with GAAP, applicable reporting standards, tax requirements, and regulatory submissions while maintaining strong internal controls. You'll coordinate annual audit activities, working closely with external auditors to ensure timely and accurate completion. You'll mentor and support the Finance team, fostering a collaborative, high-performing, and engaged work environment. You'll identify opportunities to enhance financial systems, reporting processes, and operational efficiencies. Skills and Qualifications 5+ years of progressive finance and financial analysis experience, supported by a university degree in Accounting, Business, or a related discipline. CPA designation completed or actively in progress. Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and full cycle accounting. Experience preparing regulatory reporting, audits, payroll approvals, and financial compliance activities. Proficiency with ACCPAC or comparable financial systems, along with advanced Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills. Excellent analytical, organizational, problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining confidentiality. Experience within the not-for-profit sector is considered a strong asset.
