The Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced Manager to help lead Stern Cohen FIT, our innovative and rapidly growing cloud bookkeeping and outsourced accounting practice.
FIT provides growing businesses with the financial support they need throughout the year, including bookkeeping, financial reporting, accounting, payroll and part-time CFO services. Our team uses a modern cloud accounting platform that includes QuickBooks Online, Dext, and Wagepoint to deliver accurate, timely financial information and help clients improve how their businesses operate.
As Manager, you will play a key role in leading client engagements, supporting and developing our skilled FIT team, and maintaining a consistently high standard of service. With support from our FIT Senior Manager and Partners, you will have responsibility for the quality and successful delivery of outsourced accounting engagements across a diverse portfolio of clients.

Responsibilities
Manage and oversee a dedicated team of bookkeepers, accountants and payroll specialists
Review engagement files and tax returns for small business clients
Act as a leadership role model, through coaching, feedback, development, and performance management of direct and indirect reports
Continuously pursue opportunities for professional development and increased industry knowledge
Maintain knowledge of the latest accounting technologies and applications that will support our clients financial and organizational needs
Build and maintain strong client relationships
Become an integral part of the management team and assist with practice management
Qualifications
Completion of a degree or diploma in bookkeeping, accounting, business, or finance
Strong bookkeeping and financial knowledge with experience in cash flow projections, budgeting, and financial analysis
Knowledge of Compilation financial statements (formerly Notice to Reader) and tax
Strong ability to multitask, prioritize, and move efficiently between tasks and clients
At least one year of management experience in a public accounting environment or industry, including responsibility for overseeing accounting work
Tax experience is an asset
Experience with cloud-based accounting platforms, especially QuickBooks Online, Dext, Wagepoint, and Plooto is a strong asset but not required
Demonstrated excellence in client service and relationship building with both external and internal clients
Strong attention to detail and analytical and inquiry skills that enable a deep understanding of clients businesses
Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal and presentation skills
