Job Summary and Essential Job Duties: The Maintenance Technician position is responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of complex machine controls, electrical, pneumatic and/or mechanical problems. This role requires a highly motivated individual with strong troubleshooting, technical and communication skills. Through On the Job Training (OJT), Maintenance Technician will: Troubleshooting complex machine and facilities control, electrical and/or mechanical problems. Maintaining critical spares parts inventory Developing and facilitating preventative maintenance activities Education Requirements: We would consider both a technician with significant experience and/or an engineer. Field service technicians and engineers would fit well in this role. Minimum Requirements: Significant hands on experience with electrical, plumbing and/or mechanical troubleshooting and repair Must work well in a team setting Significant experience with machine controls (PLC programming for example) a plus but not required Industrial HVAC experience a plus but not required Ability to follow directions and have attention to detail Ability to work in a challenging, fast paced environment with good time management skills Analytical troubleshooting / problem solving and multi-tasking skills Other Skills and Experience: Experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred but not required. Experience leading small teams preferred but not required. Work Requirements: Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch: and talk and hear. The job may involve prolong periods of sitting/standing. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp. Work Environment: This position works in a manufacturing environment. The noise level can vary from quiet to loud frequencies. May involve the use of oils and solvents. Generally works in a clean environment and works to maintain the environment as such. May require area specific safety training. The employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes. May be assigned to various production areas as needs require.
