Key Responsibilities: Provide overall supervision and leadership to maintenance employees including millwrights and electricians in a unionized manufacturing environment Ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety legislation and promote a strongsafety culture across the department Ensure the efficient operation of plant equipment and services with a focus on cost control, safety, and product quality Maintain open and effective communication with Production, Quality, and other departments to understand operational requirements and equipment issues Schedule and manage work orders within the maintenance management system including Somax Support and lead maintenance planning activities where required, including prioritization, scheduling, and coordination of preventive and corrective work Coordinate parts, labour, and resources to ensure efficient execution of planned maintenance activities Support and perform maintenance planning and coordination activities where required, including materials management, inventory oversight, supplier coordination, and work order administration Assess employee performance and identify training and development needs Develop, coach, and lead a capable and engaged maintenance team Maintain positive employee and union relations and address employee concerns in accordance with the collective agreement Support the development and continuous improvement of preventive and predictive maintenance programs Utilize maintenance data and systems to monitor performance and improve equipment reliability Lead or support root cause analysis activities and implement corrective actions to prevent recurring failures Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing downtime, improving equipment performance, and controlling maintenance costs Oversee and coordinate plant maintenance projects involving internal staff and external contractors Support the planning and implementation of capital projects Ensure preventative maintenance activities are executed effectively and in accordance with established plans Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices GMP, food safety, and quality requirements Support compliance with corporate policies, safety programs, and established standards Work flexible hours including supporting multiple shifts as required All other duties as assigned Experience & Education Post secondary education or equivalent preferred Trade certification as a Licensed Millwright or Licensed Electrician preferred Ability to pass Post Offer Of Employment Testing POET for the position Minimum of three years experience in a maintenance supervisory role within a unionized, automated, fast paced manufacturing environment Experience in food, beverage, or consumer packaged goods manufacturing considered an asset Strong understanding of Occupational Health and Safety legislation and workplace safety practices Demonstrated experience working within a unionized environment, including application of collective agreements Experience with maintenance planning, work order management systems, and preventative maintenance programs Familiarity with capital project support and maintenance related cost management Knowledge of PLC troubleshooting and programming considered an asset Familiarity with food safety programs including HACCP, CFIA requirements, and continuous improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma considered an asset Strong organizational and problem solving skills with the ability to manage competing priorities Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate across departments Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications Flexibility to work alternating shifts, weekends, and holidays as required The annual salary range for applicants is: $67,700 - $100,000, which does not include discretionary bonus compensation or our comprehensive benefits package. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other factors.
