Job DescriptionJob Description Job Title: Machine / Process Operator Job Description This role involves operating production equipment to manufacture products in accordance with specifications, standard operating procedures (SOPs), Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards, and safety requirements. The Machine / Process Operator ensures consistent product quality by accurately handling ingredients, monitoring processes, and maintaining a clean and compliant work area. Responsibilities Operate production and manufacturing equipment safely and efficiently according to SOPs and GMP standards. Weigh, measure, and add ingredients accurately in line with production specifications and batch requirements. Monitor product quality throughout the production process and ensure compliance with GMP, SOP, and safety requirements. Record production data, including quantities, process parameters, and any deviations, in an accurate and timely manner. Clean, sanitize, and assemble equipment, tools, and work areas to maintain hygienic and compliant production conditions. Follow all work instructions and safety procedures when handling chemicals and operating equipment. Identify basic mechanical issues with equipment and support troubleshooting activities as needed. Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production targets and maintain smooth operations. Essential Skills Experience operating production or manufacturing equipment. Ability to follow SOPs, work instructions, and GMP standards accurately. Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality and safety. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (22.7 kg). Ability to stand, walk, and perform physical work throughout the shift. Ability to wear a full-face respirator and other personal protective equipment (PPE) when handling chemicals. Previous experience in food, beverage, pharmaceutical, or manufacturing environments. Mechanical aptitude and experience with basic troubleshooting of production equipment. WHMIS certification or demonstrated WHMIS knowledge. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience working with meat or protein-based products is an asset. Comfort working in a wet and noisy production environment. Willingness to learn and adapt to new processes, equipment, and technologies. Interest in progressing into Senior Process Operator, Lead Operator, Shift Lead, Production Supervisor, or other operations roles. Why Work Here? Work Environment This is a hands-on production role in a wet and noisy manufacturing facility working with meat products (including pork). You will work on a third shift schedule, which requires comfort with overnight or late-hour work. The position involves standing and walking for most of the shift, performing physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 lbs and handling equipment. You will use production machinery, cleaning and sanitizing equipment, and may handle chemicals while wearing appropriate PPE, including a full-face respirator when required. The environment emphasizes adherence to GMP, SOPs, and strict hygiene and safety standards. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Abbotsford, BC.
