Morning and Afternoon shifts - $21/hr

Job Description
This role operates production machinery in a fast-paced food manufacturing facility, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality output. You assemble and disassemble equipment at the start and end of shifts, monitor production performance, and complete all required documentation accurately. You work in refrigerated conditions and handle various foods, including raw and cooked meat, while maintaining strict safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities
Assemble and disassemble production equipment at the beginning and end of each shift to ensure machines are ready for operation and properly shut down.
Operate production machines safely and efficiently to meet daily production targets and maintain consistent output.
Monitor product quality during production and ensure finished goods conform to prescribed quality standards.
Perform necessary adjustments on machines as required to maintain optimal performance and product consistency.
Accurately complete all necessary production paperwork, logs, and records in a timely manner.
Work in refrigerated environments at temperatures of approximately 8–10 degrees on the production floor and in warehouse areas.
Handle and work with various foods, including raw and cooked meat, in a food manufacturing setting while following hygiene and safety procedures.
Push a 200-kg bin of apple roll filling without wheels for short distances (approximately 1–2 meters) to reach the cabin plant.
Push a 200-kg bin with wheels across multiple departments to reach the batter room, following safe material-handling practices.
Lift up to 40 lbs, sometimes repetitively, and stand for up to 8 hours during a shift.
Follow all food safety, quality, and workplace safety policies, including adherence to dress code and equipment use.
Collaborate with team members and support a positive, cooperative work environment.
Lead by example in following procedures, demonstrating a sense of urgency, and supporting continuous improvement.
Communicate effectively in English to coordinate tasks, report issues, and support problem-solving on the production floor.
Essential Skills
Experience as a machine operator or in a similar mechanically inclined role in a production environment.
Mechanical aptitude and ability to understand and adjust machinery as needed.
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs, sometimes repetitively, and perform physically demanding tasks such as pushing heavy bins.
Ability to stand for up to 8 hours during a shift.
Comfort working in refrigerated environments at approximately 8–10 degrees.
Comfort working with raw and cooked meat and other food products in a food manufacturing setting.
Good English communication skills to follow instructions, complete documentation, and collaborate with the team.
Willingness to work in fast-paced production conditions with machines and conveyors running continuously.
Availability to work an afternoon shift from 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM, Monday to Friday, with frequent weekend overtime as required.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Previous experience in food manufacturing, food production, beverage manufacturing, or pharmaceutical manufacturing is an asset.
Prior machine operating experience in a high-speed production environment is an advantage.

Work Environment
This role is based in a high-volume food manufacturing facility with many conveyors and machines operating continuously in a very fast-paced environment. The primary work location is a warehouse with production areas at approximately 8–10 degrees, with additional cooler rooms around 0 degrees and freezer rooms around -18 degrees. Some work may occur in a secondary warehouse with similar cooler and freezer conditions. The shift runs from 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM, Monday to Friday, and overtime on Saturdays and/or Sundays is often required. The facility operates as a no-nut environment to protect individuals with allergies. You work with raw and cooked meat and other food products under strict food safety and hygiene standards. The dress code requires steel-toe work boots and prohibits jewelry, nail polish, false eyelashes, and similar items to maintain food safety.
