Job Summary The Licensed Practical/Registered Practical Nurse is responsible for providing direct skilled client care under the supervision of a registered nurse. Responsibilities include following the plan of care, providing treatments, and working collaboratively with the members of the team to help meet positive client care outcomes. Responsibilities Provides direct patient care Provides accurate, detailed, and timely documentation Conducts initial and ongoing assessments prepare specific care plan for each client after assessments Delegate tasks to HCAs for specific clients Prepares, administers and appropriately documents actions taken specific to medications Performs all skills, treatments, and procedures competently in accordance with the provincial scope of practice Follows principles of infection control and Universal Precautions Qualifications Current certificate of competence and good standing Certified in CPR Strong clinical skills Negative TB test or chest x-ray Self-directing with the ability to work with little direct supervision Excellent customer service skills
