Coventry University Kazakhstan is opening its doors in Almaty, and we are looking for a Library Specialist to join our growing team. Job Purpose: At Coventry University Kazakhstan, the Library Specialist is responsible for supporting the efficient operation of the library, including resource management, user services, and information literacy support. The person will work closely with students, faculty, and staff to provide access to physical and digital resources, assist with research inquiries, and promote library services. The Library Specialist will also conduct Academic English workshops for university students. This role requires strong communication and organizational skills, as well as a commitment to creating an inclusive, engaging learning environment that supports the institution's mission, values, and goals. Main Duties and Responsibilities: Provide reference and research assistance to students, faculty, and library visitors Guide users in navigating digital platforms, academic databases, and research tools Handle circulation operations including check-ins, check-outs, holds, and account renewals Catalog, classify, and maintain accurate database records for physical and digital collections Oversee collection development, including the acquisition and weeding of library materials Conduct information literacy workshops and design instructional guides and research tutorials Manage access to electronic resources, e-books, and databases, troubleshooting technical issues Collaborate with faculty to align library collections with university curriculum requirements Promote library services and resources through campus events, seminars, and outreach initiatives Supervise daily library space operations, enforce policies, and generate usage statistical reports
