Summary of Position The Teladoc Health Canada Legal Department has global responsibility for all legal matters, privacy, compliance, corporate governance, ethics, government affairs, and enterprise risk management. As a member of this team, you will help build and deliver innovative healthcare solutions that enhance patient experience, improve population health, lower costs, improve provider well-being, and advance health equity. This position reports to the Head of Legal. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Lead the drafting, review, and negotiation of commercial agreements, vendor contracts, and privacy/data‑protection agreements. Provide practical legal counsel to internal stakeholders on a wide range of matters, including privacy, healthcare regulation, product regulation, corporate/commercial law, vendor due diligence, procurement, marketing, intellectual property, information technology/AI, and human resources. Supply legal responses to client questionnaires and requests for proposals/information. Support various legal, privacy, compliance, corporate governance, ethics, government affairs, and enterprise risk management programs or initiatives. Collaborate with other subject matter experts as a member of a cross‑functional team. Supervisory Responsibilities No Qualifications Expected for Position Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school. Membership in good standing with a Canadian law society or professional regulator. Minimum of 2–5years of post‑call experience. Bilingualism in English and French. Experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial agreements. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Self‑starter with sound judgment, professionalism, and discretion. Ability to adapt to changing business priorities and manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced, complex, multi‑subsidiary global structure. Ability to earn buy‑in from business partners through a solutions‑oriented mindset. Alignment with Teladoc Health Canada’s vision, mission, and values. Preferred Qualifications / Assets Experience in the healthcare or life sciences sectors. Experience providing legal advice in Newfoundland and Labrador, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, or British Columbia. Specialized training in health law, privacy law, or related areas through continuing legal education or certifications.
