As legal counsel, you will be working as part of a broader legal team which provides legal support and assistance to commercial decision‑making to ensure that the operations of the RAC Group are compliant with relevant legislation.
This is a 12‑month contract opportunity.
What will you be doing?
Drafting, negotiating and reviewing a broad range of commercial contracts.
Conducting legal research and providing clear, sound advice to stakeholders across the RAC Group, which may include the areas of financial services, privacy, data protection, member disputes, commercial property leasing, contract interpretation, and any other legislative requirements.
Monitoring changes and developments in relevant legal and regulatory areas, including guidance issued by ASIC, APRA, AFCA and OAIC.
Advising and providing support to the RAC Group for ongoing growth and M&A activity.
Preparing and updating customer‑facing terms and conditions for a range of RAC products and services.
Supporting business units with general legal queries and matters relating to contract management.
Assisting with the development and maintenance of RAC policies and procedures.
Providing support for ASIC registrations.
Facilitating the provision of external legal advice as required.
What are we looking for in you?
Demonstrated post‑qualified experience in a top or mid‑tier law firm, with in‑house secondment experience.
Experience in preparing and negotiating various commercial contracts and applying contract law principles.
Experience in financial services, disputes and/or litigation is advantageous.
Proven ability to manage competing interests and work as part of a collaborative team.
Effective stakeholder management and ability to manage expectations.
Tertiary qualifications in Law (LLB or equivalent) and a current Western Australian Practising Certificate are mandatory.
