Position Overview : We are looking to appoint three lecturers with the ability to deliver excellent teaching and learning primarily on our BSc Business Management; BSc Economics and Business; BSc Business Management with Foundation Year and BSc Economics and Business with Foundation Year degree programmes. Successful candidates must demonstrate a commitment to delivering an excellent student experience, aligning with Cardiff University’s strategy and values. Lecturers will engage with and inspire students, providing academic support and mentorship. We are particularly interested in applicants who might be able to teach across a broad selection of topics across Business and Economics. The Two Foundation Years comprises the following modules: Social Research Methods; Key Theories in Social Sciences; Understanding and Economy and Business Context; Understanding Organisations; Mathematical Foundations, Data Science and Statistics With the following modules in Year 1 : Sustainable Society and Economy; Digital Operations Management; Introduction to Business Accounting; Management: Theory and Evidence; People in Organisations; Principles in Marketing; Macroeconomics; Microeconomics; Maths and Statistics for Economist Further details of these modules can be found at: https://cardiff.edu.kz/courses/foundation-year/ Key Responsibilities • Deliver high quality undergraduate teaching • Contributing to curriculum development and continuous enhancement • Provide academic guidance and pastoral support to students including personal tutoring • Participating in assessment and feedback processes • Inspire undergraduate and postgraduate students under the guidance of a mentor / module leader and develop skills in assessment methods and in providing constructive feedback to students. • Supervise the work of students including the supervision of Undergraduates Scholarship • Support the development of a vibrant and inclusive academic community • Contribute to scholarship in the area of work through participation in conferences, seminars and other academic and professional forums to disseminate the results of individual scholarship • Engage in scholarly activity through journal articles and/or outputs which advance knowledge within the area of work • Carry out other forms of scholarship including work associated with examinations (setting and marking paper and providing constructive feedback to students), administration, participation in committee work Other • To engage effectively with industrial, commercial and public sector organisations, professional institutions, other academic institutions etc., regionally and nationally • To undergo personal and professional development that is appropriate to and which will enhance performance in the role of Lecturer • To mentor colleagues with less experience and advise on personal development • To participate in administration and activities to promote the University • Any other duties not included above, but consistent with the role Candidate Profile Essential Criteria Applicants should demonstrate: • Relevant postgraduate qualification (PhD or equivalent preferred) • Experience of teaching at undergraduate level in higher education • Fluency in English • Demonstrate specialist knowledge and current advancements within academic subject area • Ability to design, deliver and continuously develop modules across the Schools teaching programmes. • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex and conceptual ideas clearly and confidently to others using high level skills and a range of media • The ability to provide appropriate pastoral support to students, appreciate the needs of individual students and their circumstances and to act as a personal tutor. • Proven ability to demonstrate creativity, innovation and teamworking within work • Interest in international and transnational education • Ability to work collaboratively within a diverse academic team Desirable • Relevant professional qualifications • Evidence of collaboration with industry • Evidence of ability to participate in and develop both internal and external networks and utilise them to enhance the teaching and research activities of the University. • A willingness to contribute to academic administrationTerms and Key Dates Application deadline: 10 July 2026 Interviews: July 2026 Start date: August (no later than 24 August) Salary: Competitive and commensurate with experience Contract type: Full time/Part time
