About the Job:
We are seeking a
Lead QA Automation Engineer
to drive the quality strategy, design scalable automation frameworks, and lead a high-performing QA team. In this role, you will work closely with cross-functional teams—including Engineering, Product, and DevOps—to ensure high-quality delivery across modern web, API, and enterprise applications.

Position Responsibilities:
Lead QA strategy, planning, and execution across multiple projects and teams
Design, develop, and scale robust automation frameworks for UI, API, and end-to-end testing
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to QA engineers, fostering best practices and continuous improvement
Collaborate with Product Owners, Developers, and DevOps to ensure testability and quality throughout the SDLC
Drive end-to-end automation, including building frameworks from scratch where required
Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous testing and faster releases
Oversee test planning, test case design, execution, and defect management
Ensure comprehensive coverage across functional, regression, integration (SIT), and UAT testing
Work closely with release management and deployment teams to support smooth product releases
Establish QA standards, documentation, test architecture, and governance practices
Analyze quality metrics and provide insights to stakeholders for continuous improvement
Act as a key escalation point for quality risks, defects, and production issues
Requirements
Required Qualifications:
10+ years of software testing experience within Agile development teams
7+ years of strong hands-on test automation experience
Proven experience leading QA teams or acting in a Lead capacity
Expertise in automation tools such as Selenium, WebdriverIO, REST Assured, Postman, or similar
Strong programming skills in
Java, Python, or JavaScript/TypeScript
Demonstrated experience building automation frameworks from scratch
Hands-on experience with
BDD/TDD frameworks
(Cucumber, Cypress, Playwright, Webdriver.io, TestNG, etc.)
Solid experience with
CI/CD pipelines
(Jenkins, GitHub Actions, etc.)
Strong understanding of QA methodologies and testing types (UI, API, Functional, Regression, SIT, UAT)
Experience with defect tracking and test management tools (JIRA, etc.)
Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with
SAP web testing
Exposure to performance testing and security testing practices
Experience in Agile Release Train environments (SAFe) or large-scale delivery programs
Benefits
Salary Range:
$100,000 to $110,000 CAD/ year
The final compensation offered will depend on local market conditions and geographic location, as well as job-related factors such as the candidate’s knowledge, skills, qualifications, relevant experience, and education/training. Compensation may also include additional components such as benefits, and/or other incentives, where applicable.
