A prestigious business law firm is seeking a lawyer to join its Montreal office. The firm advises fund managers, institutional investors, private equity firms and corporations on sophisticated domestic and cross-border transactions.
This opportunity is ideal for a professional looking to build a practice at the intersection of investment fund formation and mergers and acquisitions within a platform recognized for the complexity of its mandates, multidisciplinary collaboration and exposure to high-profile transactions.
The Role
As a Lawyer, you will participate in the structuring, formation and negotiation of private investment funds, as well as mergers and acquisitions involving institutional investors, private equity firms and leading businesses.
You will work closely with recognized professionals on national and international transactions across a wide range of industries.
Responsibilities
Participate in the formation and structuring of private investment funds
Advise fund managers and institutional investors on investment matters
Participate in private mergers and acquisitions transactions
Assist with private equity and co-investment transactions
Draft, review and negotiate a broad range of transactional documents
Participate in due diligence reviews and transaction analysis
Collaborate with Business Law, Tax, Banking and Securities teams
Maintain direct relationships with clients and other stakeholders
Contribute to the growth and visibility of the practice
Requirements
Member in good standing of the Québec Bar
3 to 5 years of relevant experience
Experience in investment fund formation, mergers and acquisitions or securities law
Strong interest in private funds, private equity and complex transactions
Excellent legal drafting and analytical skills
Ability to manage multiple files simultaneously in a demanding environment
Collaborative mindset and strong interpersonal skills
Sound professional judgment and business acumen
Fully bilingual in French and English, both spoken and written
