Job DescriptionJob Description Job Title: Landscaper – Softscape Division Job Description Join a dedicated softscape team as a skilled landscaper, contributing to high‑quality landscape installations across a variety of commercial and park projects. In this role, you support the softscape foreman with soil preparation, planter setup, plant layout, and planting, while also assisting with drainage, irrigation, and occasional deliveries. You work outdoors in all weather conditions, collaborate closely with teammates, and take on a wide range of tasks to ensure each project is completed efficiently and to a high standard. Responsibilities Support the softscape foreman with day‑to‑day landscape installation activities. Assist with soil installation, including moving, spreading, and grading soil as required. Set up planters and ensure they are properly prepared for planting. Help with installation and adjustment of drain pipes and basic irrigation components as directed. Assist with plant layout based on plans and direction from the foreman or supervisor. Plant trees, shrubs, and other plant material according to project specifications. Handle and move plant material safely, including offloading plants from deliveries. Support deliveries by helping load, unload, and organize materials on site. Read and interpret landscape plans to understand layout, plant placement, and softscape details. Operate hand tools and, where applicable, assist with hardscaping and heavy equipment support under supervision. Work safely and follow all site safety procedures and guidelines. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area throughout each project. Collaborate with team members to complete tasks efficiently and meet project timelines. Work outdoors in all weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs regularly. Adapt to changing site needs and take on any additional tasks required to support the team. Essential Skills 3–5 years of experience in softscaping, including planting and landscape installation. Proven landscaping experience working with plants, soil, and related materials. Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between multiple job sites. Experience reading and interpreting landscape plans and drawings. Ability to lift 50 lbs regularly and perform physically demanding work throughout the day. Comfort working outdoors in all weather conditions and environmental elements. Strong teamwork skills and willingness to support a variety of tasks to help the crew. Basic understanding of softscape practices such as soil preparation, planting, and planter setup. Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic in a construction and maintenance environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Fall protection training or certification. Experience independently laying out plant material according to plans. Ability to communicate in Spanish. Experience with both softscaping and hardscaping tasks. Familiarity with heavy equipment operation in a landscape or construction setting. The schedule typically runs from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday to Friday, with occasional overtime as project needs require. You collaborate closely with other crew members on active job sites, often in busy outdoor construction and maintenance environments. The role is hands‑on and physically demanding, requiring frequent lifting, bending, and working on uneven terrain in all weather conditions. You may work around landscape tools, softscape and hardscape materials, and, where applicable, heavy equipment operated by trained personnel, while following site safety practices at all times.
