Job description:
Infracon Construction Inc.s Minex division operates the Campbell Hill Landfill in Cache Creek, BC. We are seeking an experienced and motivated Landfill Superintendent to lead the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of the landfill site.
Reporting to senior operations leadership, the Landfill Superintendent is responsible for overall site management, regulatory compliance, workforce leadership, equipment coordination, and cost control. This role requires strong operational judgment, leadership capability, and a commitment to environmental stewardship and safety excellence. MOLO (Manager of Landfill Operations) certification is preferred, with training support available for the right candidate.

This includes participation in safety meetings, hazard assessments, inspections, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Compliance
Oversee daily landfill operations to ensure efficient, compliant, and environmentally responsible waste disposal
Ensure compliance with all applicable municipal, provincial, and federal regulations
Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and regulatory reporting
Maintain accurate operational records and documentation for regulatory agencies
Leadership & Workforce Management
Coordinate, supervise, and support site employees and contractors
Recruit, train, mentor, and evaluate landfill personnel
Provide clear direction, performance feedback, and development support
Promote a strong safety culture and lead by example
Equipment, Planning & Cost Control
Manage landfill equipment utilization, maintenance schedules, and site logistics
Develop and manage operational budgets
Monitor costs, productivity, and performance metrics
Prepare operational and financial reports, forecasts, and recommendations
Safety & Training
Implement and enforce safe work practices, policies, and procedures
Lead and participate in safety meetings, hazard assessments, and inspections
Support and deliver training programs related to safety, operations, and compliance
Perform other duties as required to support the success of Minex and Infracon operations
Qualifications & Experience
Minimum 5+ years of landfill operations or waste management experience, combined with 5+ years of supervisory experience in earthworks or heavy civil construction
MOLO (Manager of Landfill Operations) certification preferred (training support available for the right candidate)
Strong understanding of landfill operations, environmental compliance, and regulatory frameworks
Proven leadership, team management, and problem-solving skills
Strong planning, scheduling, and cost management capabilities
Experience operating heavy equipment is an asset
Proficient with Microsoft Office and construction management / estimating software
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Safety & Certification Requirements
Valid drivers licence with a clean drivers abstract
Ability to pass pre-employment and ongoing drug & alcohol testing

Shift Boss Ticket (asset)
Completion of all corporate and site-specific orientations
Worker-supplied PPE: safety boots, hard hat, safety glasses
Infracon provides any required specialized PPE
Work Environment & Physical Demands
Outdoor work environment with exposure to varying and extreme weather conditions
Physically demanding role requiring standing, walking, bending, twisting, kneeling, and working on uneven terrain
Compensation & Schedule
Hourly wage: $50–$60 per hour, commensurate with experience
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 10-hour days
Travel Pay: Up to 1 hour per day
